American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious songs that dealt with sexual identity and race with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop education began when she was a teenager. In the end, she focused on her education. she was awarded an education in journalism at college and a women's studies degree. The focus on music until after she completed her degree. Her My Vag song, My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and eventually appeared on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits including body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The single that debuted was specifically linked to The Awkwafinas Guide to NYC, her 2015 travel guide. With musician and author in her portfolio, she decided to began looking for acting in a third project.
